I just got over a sore throat , what helped me was eating a lot of oranges( the white part on the orange is excellent for your throat) also I gargled with apple cider vingear and honey and I inhaled steam. My throat was feeling better in one day. As soon as I feel a sore throat coming on this is what I do all the time. You have to nip it in the bud. I hope this helps.

I hope you feel better soon.

Gargle with warm salt water. Also, sip regular, caffeinated tea such as Red Rose or Lipton. There is tannic acid in tea which helps soothe a sore throat.
Lastly, run a humidifier while you sleep, or put a pot of simmering water on the stove. The humidity will also soothe your throat.
You can take some Motrin with food, also.

There are sprays you can buy which kind of "numb" your throat for a bit, and I've found that usually helps. Go check the pharmacy at your local drugstore, or grocery store, and they'll have sprays like that.

I've found tea and honey can help as well.
