STAY OUT OF THE BATHROOM! Your fear is well-founded. Touching your own bits (or anyone else's, for that matter) will simply put the fire down there as well as in your eyes. If you must go, follow these steps to avoid serious discomfort:

First, get some household bleach and water, then rinse your hands well in it. The bleach will loosen the capsaicin (that's the active ingredient in chiles) and wash most of it off your hands.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do for your eyes is let them stop hurting. It will take six minutes, or a little longer, for the capsaicin to be metabolized. And unfortunately you can't neutralize it -- once it hurts, it has already flooded the nerve endings with the ions that cause the pain. And it takes at least six minutes for your body to dissolve those ions and make the pain stop.

You can take some comfort in this knowledge: Capsaicin is utterly harmless. That is, it doesn't do any damage -- it just excites the nerve endings that sense heat.

Oh yeah, I've done that more times than I want to admit. I have a strange solution, maybe it only works for me. Turn the faucet on high with cold water. Put your head sort of in the sink with your eyes facing the stream. (You have to crane your neck a little so your eyes are parallel to the stream). Open your eyes really wide and hold it there for 20 seconds or so.

I always swear it's something about the mist of the stream flushing the acid out. Works well for onion eyes too.

Don't touch anything else sensitive witout washing with copious amounts of soap and water. For your eyes, if you have any contact lens solution, the ordinary salty kind, use some of that to rinse your eyes with, it should help.

don't listen to some of the advice here - use tepid water or better still milk to soothe it. If still very sore tomorrow see pharmacist or GP.

Wash your hands in oil (veg, olive, or whatever) then in soap and water before you use the loo.
Wear plastic gloves next time.
