is that the old jazz song? if so its a gorgeous one to sing.
i find the easiest way to remember a song is to enjoy it - sounds wierd, but when you get into it i find it sticks in your head easily.

there is, of course, the tried and tested technique of repetition. if this is the song i think it is, then the tune of the verses is fairly repetitive, so try memorising the lyrics of the verses separatly - strangely enough it makes it easier. memorise them in order, as this will make it easier to recite them.

if you get absolutely desperate, try writing teh first few words of each verse on yuor palm - that way, if you have a blank, you can take a sneak peak down at your hand :)

Get someone to help you. Start at the beginning without looking. Sing it till you can't remember anymore. Have your helper feed you one word at a time to trigger your memory and until you can sing more of the song. Now go back to the beginning and sing it all the way until you can't anymore remember again.
Repeat until you get it. Then practice the whole song several times before your performance.
You can do this without a helper, if you can discipline yourself to struggle to remember each time without looking. It's the struggle without looking that works. It's more fun with a helper, though.

Another way is to create in your mind a ridiculous, crazy picture using the words you can remember.

I would start with the first way above. See if that works for you.

Take it line by line and memorize one or two lines per day if you have time.

If you don't have time, You will need to sing it so often it becomes memorized. You might decide to mark lyrics on your hand as a sort of "cheat sheet."

This one is an oldie and shouldn't be hard to memorize. Put character in it and do some acting with it.

think about the actual MEANING of the words, not just the vocabulary. try to create an image in your mind of what's happening. make up funny senarios and stuff to help you memorize the hard parts. sing over and over again 'till you can do it in your sleep.

get a recording of the song and just keep listening to it. It will get stuck in your head quite quickly just like any other song you may enjoy and wind up knowing the lyrics to cause you listened to it so much.

by the way, GOOD LUCK!

Listen to it over and over again. Get yourself hooked and obsessed to the song or listen to it while following it on a printout of the words. Works for me.

read the lines over and over then will you feel comfortable enough, ask someone to see if your reading the lines right...if you can be able to read the lines without thinking, then you can be able to begin practicing the singing of it!
