The three religions agree on one basic fact: Both women and men are created by God, The Creator of the whole universe.

However, disagreement starts soon after the creation of the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve. The Judaeo-Christian conception of the creation of Adam and Eve is narrated in detail in Genesis (2:4-24).

God prohibited both of them from eating the fruits of the forbidden tree. The serpent seduced Eve to eat from it and Eve, in turn, seduced Adam to eat with her.

When God rebuked Adam for what he did, he put all the blame on Eve,

"The woman you put here with me --she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it."(Genesis, 3: 12).

Consequently, God said to Eve:

"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you." (Genesis, 3: 16).

To Adam He said:

"Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree of which I forbideen you to eat, “ Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life..." (Genesis, 3: 17).

The Islamic conception of the first creation is found in several places in the Qur’an, for example:

"O Adam dwell with your wife in the Garden and enjoy as you wish but approach not this tree or you run into harm and transgression. Then Satan whispered to them in order to reveal to them their shame that was hidden from them and he said: 'Your Lord only forbade you this tree lest you become angels or such beings as live forever.' And he swore to them both that he was their sincere adviser. So by deceit he brought them to their fall: when they tasted the tree their shame became manifest to them and they began to sew together the leaves of the Garden over their bodies. And their Lord called unto them: 'Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you that Satan was your avowed enemy?' They said: 'Our Lord we have wronged our own souls and if You forgive us not and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be lost' " (7:19:23).

A careful look into the two accounts of the story of the Creation reveals some essential differences.

The Qur’an, contrary to the Bible, places equal blame on both Adam and Eve for their mistake. Nowhere in the Qur’an can one find even the slightest hint that Eve tempted Adam to eat from the tree or even that she had eaten before him. Eve in the Qur’an is no temptress, no seducer, and no deceiver. Moreover, Eve is not to be blamed for the pains of childbearing. God, according to the Qur’an, punishes no one for another's faults. Both Adam and Eve committed a sin[2]and then asked God for forgiveness and He forgave them both.

Eve wasn't the first women, but because all your christians beleive that, I'll go with that. Eve didn't seduce adam, true women are more powerful then men give them credit for. It's a test to see if you think women actually sedced men, then what is with the world today. IF women seduced men all the time, wouldn't women be in higher power then just housewifes? I can't believe you take the bible literally.

Actually the Bible says that it's Eve's fault that women have periods and pain in child birth. If you have pain during sex then you should consult a doctor. Something might be wrong. Anyway no it's not all Eve's fault. It's Adam's(PBUH*) fault as well more Adam's(PBUH*) fault then Eve's because Adam(PBUH*) was supposed to make sure Eve didn't eat the apple and protect her. Because of their sin Adam(PBUH*) and Eve were kicked out of Jinnah(Heaven) and sent down to Earth but they repented and Adam(PBUH*) became the first Prophet in Islam and in the world. Women are not cursed in childbirth or menstruation. It's healthy.

God formed man and gave HIM THE INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT THE TREE and THEN He formed Eve. He gave ADAM the instructions about the tree. Eve was deceived, but Adam made a CHOICE to ignore Gods instructions. Adam did not take charge as Head of the Household, he just let Eve do what she wanted and then tried to pass the buck when they got in trouble. But it flows from the head down. Ultimately HE was responsible because he was a lazy leader for his wife. They were both "punished" each to labor of a different kind.

These are all stories used to vilify women in the middle ages. They are allegorical in nature as are all of the stories in these books. They are a reflection of the mindset of the times. Anyone who buys into the notion that women are the root of all evil and sin in the world has been completely brainwashed by religion and is missing the whole point. It is humans abuse of religion to influence the decisions of others that leads to stories like this one.

ALI: Great question ! In all reality, the initial sin is placed on Satan [the "Deceiver"] for conning in Eve and then, Adam. They BOTH received the consequences for their disobedience. God realizes that Satan was the instigator and fore knew that Satan would get to Adam and Eve. God made Satan and He also, made Adam and Eve and all their weaknesses too. As you read in the Holy Bible account, that God promised the very sacrifice of Jesus Christ [prophesy] to reconcile the human race to Him [God] because of their proclivity towards being deceived by Satan and sinning. This is why Jesus Christ is so important to the future of ALL of us the earth - past, present and future. It is God, Who created EVIL, ( see: Book of Isaiah, chapter 45; verse 7 ) and He [God] has resolved this in His Son's, Jesus Christ's, sacrifice [death on the cross] to free us ALL from the penalty of eternal death, incurred from sinning. Humans sin and always will sin, as long as he or she is flesh. God assuming all responsibility for sin, offers His Son, Jesus Christ called the "second Adam" to redeem ALL humans, in his and her time and turn. That is why Jesus Christ is ALIVE today and sets Christianity apart from other beliefs. We [humans] have the opportunity, as it is presented by Him [God] to have a relationship with Him [Jesus] ! Peace to you ALI !!!

Adam and Eve were NOT actual historical people. The story is a myth. the name "Adam" means earth creature and "Eve" means living. This is a MYTH of living creatures, NOT a man and a woman.

You contradict the Bible, but the Bible contradicts you.
"For it was Adam who was created first, and then Eve, and it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression. Nevertheless, the woman will be preserved through the process of child bearing if she continues in faith and love and sanctity with discretion." (I Timothy 2:13-15)
