While I may find it a good thing if he is familiar with the works of Shakespeare and Longfellow, I would find quoting those works stupid.
Talking about any of those works? That would be fine and interesting - just no quoting.

I would think it was sweet-because I love literature. I would think he was smart, and had an appreciation for the arts, especially if he could carry on a conversation about it. How could quoting shakespeare, longfellow or other poets be stupid?

It is very romantic. My boyfriend, Trevor knows alot of my favorite poetry. When we go out and are having a romantic date he quotes it. Just because you know poetry doesn't mean anything except that you are in tune with the softer side of life.

Hey if the guy can pull it off! I honestly like guys that do their own thing, if poetry is your thing, go for it! Poetry isn't for everybody and not every guy would sound right citing it either =P
Btw I LOVEEEEEE Longfellow!!

Bleurrrrrrrrrgh. What do I need with romance? He can take that crap back to 19th-century England where it belongs.
