My best friend has liked and been friends with a girl for about 2 years, and she hangin out with him sometimes has made me know her much better, and i've found out she's a nice gal and i kinda like her too, and she's single. i surely would like to go out with her but i don't want to upset my best friend knowing he's liked her for some time. what would you do if you were in my place?

back off her friends will mean more to you than a girl in the end

You said he's liked her for some time. No matter how diplomatic you try handle this matter, you friend is going to feel at least awkard, if not downright angry at you. Sounds like he's waiting for her to come around. You cutting in to his object of desire, no matter how nicely, makes you no longer a friend in his eyes. You will have taken the girl he wanted. By the way, how does the girl feel about you? Do you thinks she's attracted to you? Is she attracted to him? Since I'm not acquianted with the three of you, this is best answer I can give.

First off, "Bros before Hos", I would never do anything to disrespect a friend especially over a girl.

First I'd find out how your friend really feels about her. And find out why he hasn't already made a move. He may not like her that way.

If you really like her (see long term potential) and want to ask her out, clear it with your friend first. He may be cool with it, cause it's not like he's making any moves on her.

If you don't like her that way, then move on. See if she has any cute single friends she can hook you up with.

Friends don't cross friends dude... Tell your friend how you feel about this girl... and then tell him that you aren't going to act on it, nor are you going to even think about it... he has first dibs, dude... Girls will break up a friendship faster than you can possibly imagine... and sometimes it's not even something they can control...
