There are entire copies of both the Old and New Testaments dating hundreds of years before Mohammed's birth and “Revelation”. The Chester Beatty Papyrus, dated A.D. 200, existed over 400-years before Mohammad’s first meeting with “Gabriel”. Codex Sinaticus and Codex Vaticanus 2 nearly complete copies of the scriptures, including both the Old and New Testaments, dated A.D. 350, existed 200 years before Mohammad’s birth.
The scriptures have not been changed by Christians and Jews but by Muslims.
Nowhere, does the Quran claim the Bible has or was corrupted in Mohammad’s day. The reason Muslims claim the Bible is corrupted is because of the incredible differences between the books, the Bible and Quran. Mohammad thought his revelation was truly the same as the Bible, he was in fact “wrong”. The Bible needs to be corrupted, for the Quran to be true for Muslim apologists.
Shortly after Mohammed’s death, his verses remained written on stones, bones, leather, and hidden in the memories of his followers. Years passed and most of those, who claimed to remember all of the Qur'an by heart, were killed in battle. Some of the items on which verses were written were damaged or lost.
Muslims today are committed to the idea that there was one original Qur'an which was compiled without any mistakes, omissions or additions. Yet, Islamic history shows that perhaps four to seven different versions of the Qur'an emerged. One of Mohammed’s successors, Caliph Uthman, was shocked by this fact. He assigned a committee of three people to construct a standardized version of the Qur'an. Then Muslim leaders tried to burn all other versions of the Qur'an (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 6, p. 479).
The most respected Hadith records that even Uthman’s standardized copy had to be corrected. One of the committee members, Zaid, related how they realized that a verse was missing. They searched and found it with a man named Khuzaima-bin-Thabit al Ansari. Tradition says that the passage which was added to the standardized version is found in chapter thirty-three, verse twenty-three of the modern Qur'an (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 6, p. 479). Even with the addition of that passage, there are less reliable Islamic traditions which report that verses were left out of the Uthman standardized Qur'an. It was reported that Mohammed recited verses for the Qur'an that commanded stoning of adulterers (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasulullah, p. 684). This teaching is not found in the Qur'an today.
The vast majority of Muslims are strongly offended by scholars who suggest that the Qur'an was edited, changed or was in any way different from the original pronouncements of Allah through Mohammed. They believe that the burned Qur'ans had only minor differences and that the standard copy, blessed by Caliph Uthman, was made by devout followers of Mohammed who had memorized the verses with unerring perfection. They would reject the traditions that imply any deficiencies in the Qur'an as unreliable Islamic history. They revere the Qur'an as the perfect word of Allah and resist critical scholarly inquiry into imperfections in the text.

we dont pick out the passages we like we pick out the ones that agree with the Quran. same as hadith...there's no way to prove the authencity so when one conflicts with a teaching of the Quran we use the Quran over it.
The Quran says God has no children and that Jesus was a prophet...its not that we dont like that part it just doesn't agree with the Quran. The Quran says that the books before it have been altered and are not entirely accurate anymore. even the bible says something about this:
"`How can you say, "We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?' (From the NIV Bible, Jeremiah 8:8)”

We believe that the bible WAS the word of god and then it got add to , changed and tampred with by humans. That's why you so many different versions of the bible. However, our belief implies that some of the bible is still original and therfore we can quote it. Reminder, there's only 1 version of Quran.

We don't actually say that Bible is full of lie, or it's a complete lie. We say that Bible was surely a valid source of truth. But after Jesus's departure it was distorted by later saints. Also, not all parts of Bible has been tampered with, a significant parts have been distorted, replaced, changed or otherwise tampered from what it really was.
A prominent Muslim scholar responded to a similar question:
"Bible contains both the genuine teachings of the Prophet Jesus (peace and blessings be upon him) as well as those added to it by later Christians. We, as Muslims, are to believe in everything that Jesus taught. Since we have no way of knowing which of those teachings are genuine other than through their confirmation by the Final Revelation, namely, the Qur'an, we reject everything that is contradicted by the Qur’an, while confirming everything that has been attested by the same.
As for those teachings which are neither confirmed nor contradicted by the Qur'an, we do not reject them entirely, we only say, (We believe in what has been revealed to you and what has been revealed to us from our Lord and your Lord; our Lord and your Lord is One. ) (Al-`Ankabut 29: 46) "

The Bible was originally God’s words, put some of it was perverted by humans,so it is not all wrong,it has alot of things that get along with the spirit of Islam,it has some guidances that Islam is the true religion....
How can you believe God may have a son???is this logical???...Jesus is a noble prophet,he himself is a miracle in the way he came to life, the way he was raised up to heavens, and the way he will come to earth again.but he is not more than a miracle, and a noble prophet..If God has a son,so he has a wife,Does God eat, does drink, does God sleep? Reproduction is like eating, drinking, and sleeping a characteristic of humans only,God is higher than all of these human characteristics, they are points of weakness in us,without some of them we die,how come God has points of weakness???of course God is higher than all of these things....

I'm sorry people misunderstand Catholic teachings, but a lot of people misunderstand Islam, Mormonism...etc and I do not see so many questions about "Why are Mormons/ Muslims... being bashed?" Why not talk about Catholics bashing gay people (Or other religions like Protestants)? That is a lot more prevalent (And caused LGBT community so much harm) on and offline.

first of all as a believer i strongly believe that all divine books are true and from god. the original author was god. over the period of time many people added their versions and edit those books, so now most of books are not in their original format. lot of men added stuff in it.
as far as i know its not sin to study or read the book of other religion. if you do comparative study of religions then you find that no religion says that do murders, speak lies, do frauds, commit adultery, etc etc, the main aim of every religion is to eradicate all social un-justice and social sins.
by and large religious people used to give references from other religions books which goes in their FAVOR. or where they feel that they can proof other religion false.
but there are many people who studied all religions for the sake of knowledge and read all divine books without any bias, by believing that its also gods words.

I guess because they believe some of it and disagree with some other christian beliefs, and as a result call it a lie. Not all muslims say that though.

This is the great dilemma of Islam. They claim to be directly connected with the God of the Bible, but they have to twist and distort what the Bible says in order to prove their point. They actually try to prove Mohammed was the Comforter or Paraclete spoken of in John's Gospel.
I for one have received the Comforter, and I assure you, He is not Mohammed.
