Yes I do. After you get it pierced you want to dilute some Scope mouthwash with water.(1/2and1/2) Rinse your mouth after you eat, after you smoke, after you drink, etc. for about 2weeks. Also, to keep the swelling down and get used to it a little bit, try eating Ice Cream. ALOT! lol It keeps the swelling down to a minimal and keeps the pain to a minimul also. Also take Tylenol or Motrin for any left over pain.(night time mainly) This will also help with swelling. It should only swell for a few days and be tender for a couple of weeks until it heals completely. Never take it out before 6-8 weeks. If you need help changing it your piercer should offer this service for no charge.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Do not use 50/50 Scope and water to clean the piercing. You should either use sea salt rinses for your mouth or an alcohol and saccharin free mouth wash such as Biotene. Scope and Listerine are harsh and can make swelling persistent. Generally, Motrin or Midol can help with some swelling and pain, however, ice chips can help. To decrease infection, start using a new toothbrush as soon as you get the piercing done and rinse after eating, drinking and smoking. Brush your teeth twice daily as well, gently scrubbing the tongue area.
Don't eat anything hard or sticky for a few days, you will need time to adjust to the piercing being there and care must be used. Also avoid spicy foods, foods high in vinegar and acidity for a while (they will sting and can cause horrible pain and swelling)
In theory, it may never heal. The tongue is a muscle and frequently regenerates cells. However, you should wait 3 months before changing the jewelry yourself and even at that point, you may not be able to go long periods of time without jewelry in place. After 7-14 days, the swelling will go down and your piercer will then give you a better fitting barbell so you don't bite on it.
Things to remember: clacking the jewelry on your teeth is not only annoying to others, but chips your enamel, weakening your teeth. You can use plastic beads to prevent teeth chipping should you bite on them. Also keep and eye for soreness under your tongue and on the roof of your mouth, often the jewelry can wear away at this area increasing risk for infections and oral complications.
Good luck.

My husband had one when we were dating.
After getting it peirced it should only swell for a day or two. (some people dont have swelling, which isnt many). Just eat soft foods and cold foods. Use ice after getting it peirced. Some people have no problem though.
He would used mouth wash to clean any bacteria.

I had one.
The pain never really went away.
They say to use mouth wash for infection, but that hurts.
I rubbed it against my teeth till it started to wear on them, and I didn't have dental insurance. It wasn't worth it!
