what I used for my dog and still use periodically is a great product called "bitter apple". It comes in a spray and you can get it at any pet store...they hate the taste of it!!!

Take the wood away from him or keep it out of reach!!
Give him some lamb offcuts or other soft bones to chew on or a new toy to teach him good and bad now to try and curb impending bad habits before they get out of hand and you are stuck with a dog who likes to eat everything!

I would put something nasty tasting on the wood. thats what I did with my boxer puppy and once they tasted it they never chewed on it agian. i would use vinegar or you can go buy the no chew spray from the store and spray it on there as well.

There are a few ways to stop this:
When s/he is chewing show him/her a treat, bone, chew toy etc. Say "Give" firmly, and when they take their toy/treat, congratulate them.
OR
Some companys make a spray that dogs hate. You can also use hot sauce to deter them from chewing wood.
Hope this helps!
