If there is a Trader Joe's near you, their "house" wine is Charles Shaw. Very cheap but ranks near the top in taste by some experts. They have Merlot, Shiraz, Chardonnay, a few more.
If there is no Trader Joes near you, Crane Lake is cheap and decent. Better still, depending on your definition of "Budget", Blackstone has a very good Merlot. You can usually get it for around $10-$12 at the grocery but pay $30-$50/bottle at a fancy restaurant.

They are at the real "budget" end, but don't turn up your nose up at Corbett Canyon wines, especially their boxed Merlot, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay, for use as a general purpose cooking and simple drinking wine. Where I live, they cost slightly over $10 for a 3 Liter box; they're not Premier Cru, but they are a steal nonetheless and way, way beyond most other budget-priced wines in quality and drinkability, plus the box method means longer shelf-life and no irritating corks to replace after every glass.

There's a wine called "Barefoot". They have many varieties of red and white and while it's not great, it's not bad for $5

The last answer was right on. Trader Joes and Charles Shaw is the way to go. I prefer Merlot, but all are fairly tasty.
