I love my family, we've been very closed always. But the problem comes when my ideas about my life and what I want to do with it, come and they don't agree. I feel I am not strong enough to fight ofr my ideas.

well i know how you're feeling because i have gone through the same things. sometimes family looks at things from an outside view and only want the best for you. but in the end its your decision in what you wanna do with your life...remember its YOURS no one elses. be strong because your ideas are something that no one can take away. explain to your family that the ideas you have are right now ideas and you dont mind their opinions but in the end you're going to decide whats right for you life. be strong in your ideas about life and relationships...only you know what will make you happy.

No one is going to always agree with you. Did you ask them why they disagree with your ideas? Tell them to come up with some concrete reasons. Be open with their reasons. Be prepared to give concrete reasons too. You shouldn't be afraid to dream. Tell them that dreams are what people do and some dreams are what keep people going. Communication is good with family. You don't always have to agree with their ideas either. You didn't say your age, so I could suggest some things. If you are still in school, you should make a list of the things you want to accomplish and the reasons. List the pros and cons.
What would it take to get to there? ie.... Schooling? Where would you live? etc... Would you be able to get financial assistance?

If you are serious about something and they laugh, tell them how you feel about it. If you are hurt when they make fun, tell them it is serious and you don't take it lightly. Tell them it hurts your feelings. They may not know. Be honest with them. Don't be afraid to voice your feelings, good or bad to your own family. They are your family, through the thick and thin. Hang in there, hugs to you.

You don't say how old you are or what it is you believe you want to do. You say you aren't strong enough to fight... maybe your ideas are the problem. If you truly believe that strongly, you will fight. If they want you to be a doctor and you want to be a musician... they are just looking out for you. Don't give up on your dreams, set reasonable goals and stick to it. If your family sees your dedication and determination they are more likely to support you. Make sure you aren't saying stuff just to get a reaction. Good luck and God bless.
