I am an MD, but not an Ob/gyn, I understand the condition to an extent. Please feel free to be as technical as you like. For the purposes of this question, assume that no other abnormalities have been found on prenatal ultrasound, but if there are associated birth defects commonly found with it that you know of, please feel free to mention them.

Unilateral renal agenesis means that one kidney never formed...it is totally absent . This condition could be accompanied by many other birth defects, or no other birth defects. The other kidney may be completely normal, and may not be. There is such a wide range, that without furthur info it is not possible to state a prognosis. If a fetus is diagnosed on pre-natal ultrasound, or a baby is diagnosed after birth with this condition, the physician will definetly examine the child very thoroughly for presence of any other anomilies. Your best source of information is the baby's own physician. I have listed one website below with information and there are others also if you wish to do a web search.

Are you on Cranberry water to keep your kidneys flushed?? This should help enormously. My Dad had kidney problems.

The health food store sells Cranberry concentrate(unsweetened)
$16.98 a pint. Mix 8 ounces with a gallon of water. Drink a 6 or 8 oounce glass about 20 minutes before each meal. It is acidic and flushes the poisons out of your system.

My Dads Dr. Prescribed this years ago and once he started doing it , his kidneys stayed healthy.

Good Luck.
