Its a blast! You meet a ton of new people, and have more opportunities then you'll have any other time in your life. It does help to have a little spare cash to spend on having fun, but you can find things to do without it. Hanging out on campus is free, joining clubs is free, and I know my campus has free music shows and comedians for the students. College is more fun then you'll ever expect. You can go in and be whoever it is you always wanted to be, and you can do what you want to do. Sure, you need to work your butt off on schoolwork, but in a community where thousands of people are doing the same thing, you can even make boring classes fun. When people say that your college years are the best of your life, they mean it!

That depends a) where you attend b) how much money you have to spend on fun c) what you expect to get out of the university experience. Going to uni in a large city will probably offer you more activities than in a small town, although you could be surprised. Your life will not suddenly become wonderful and perfect, but you will meet a lot of new people and have new opportunities. Having cash to spend on these opportunities helps; being a poor student on a grant or bursary can mean having to make your own entertainment, which if you have an imagination can be done. Yes, you're there to get a degree, but also to develop as a person.
Have a good time! and a nice life!

That depends on you and your situation, and the school you choose. You can study hard and never come up for air, or you can party like a rock star and flunk out in a semester. Either one might be fun for you - it's up to you to make it fun.

When you are selecting a school, ask about what student organizations are on campus. I work at a school that has hundreds of registered student organizations - from politics to professional groups, outdoor groups, religious, recreational, investing, or obscure things you probably never heard of. There's a rock climbing club; there's the Society for Creative Anacronisms; there's the Young Republicans, Young Democrats, archery, ski, tennis, bowling, Veterinary Students, Business, Law Students, and more. It's up to you to find what interests you and get involved.
