I've normally come across this in the opposite fashion. I own a purebred, and work at a breeders, and people get on my case about it. Especially when I ask about finding a good breeder for a breed I don't know much about. I have nothing against mutts either though. I even refer to my purebred dog as a mutt, because I think the term is cute. I volunteered for 3 years at a rescue, and I love mixed breeds. The reason that I have my purebred dog is because I was raising him (at my work), and he got too attached to me to be able to go with anyone else. Again, I love mutts, but I normally see more people telling people that want/have a purebred to go to a shelter and get a mutt, or get a purebreed from a shelter.
