i was born in guatemala, adopted and brought to the US when i was a baby. i'm in desperate need of my birth certificate and social security card (both have disappeared). i can't get it in the US. what do i do? i also don't have any government issued ID (due to not having these documents). will that be a problem when trying to get these things?
i should also mention that the only ID i do have is a school ID BUT it says the name i've gone by all my life, which isn't my legal name. my parents were dumb and never properly changed it

Contact me right away to my e-mail: iex@ifasc.org. Tell me exactly what is going on. I will investigate what you say and submit the info to the US Embassy in Guatemala City. After all, that is the job of my organization International Family Aid & Support Center - Bureau of Special Investigations.
