Be his friend. If he is gay, you can't change that! I have a lot of gay friends and they are all the best. It is just like having female friends except gay guys are more honest and can give you their opinions and advise from both points of view!

Nothing. If he is openly gay it means that he made a choice and he is comfortable with it, trying or being overtly open with how you feel toward him is just gonna make him really uncomfortable and ruin any chance that you have may of had with him for a great friendship. How would you feel if you had a gay person hitting on you and they knew you status as a hetrosexual. Uncomfortable, don't you think.

Respect his preferences and continue to be friends. If you have romantic feelings for him, let him know and ask for some space between you both. Friendship should be based on honesty and respect at all times. You have nothing to fear!
