BEWARE of salons "thinning" your hair. Thinning may make your hair thinner but many salons do not under stand that if you hair is puffy and frizzy thinning it makes it more light weight and makes it appear bigger. Also the shorter the cut..the more volume you achieve. So your best bet would be to grow your hair long, add some LONG layers if you want layers..do not thin it. The longer it is, it will weigh itself down.

Then, minimize the amount you wash your hair..every three days or so. Take the time to blow dry in small sections pulling tight with a ceramic round brush or a paddle brush ( I use both for different parts of my head) then go over each piece with a straighteining iron that should smooth out all the frizz.

I promise this works. If my hair can look "normal" so can yours. It is time consuming but once you get the hang of it, its not so bad.

I have frizzy hair and it drove me nuts. I spent so much money on the expensive things that didn't work so I started wearing my hair pulled back all the time. A couple months ago I decided to try something so I bought a bottle of Neutrogena Triple Moisture Smooth Shine Anti Frizz Cream from Walmart and I have swore by the stuff since. It's around $5 for a four ounce bottle and it doesn't take much either. I use t when I get out of the shower while my hair is still wet. If you want even smoother, sleek looking hair, use a straitening iron with it. It worked wonders for me!

If it's curly or wavy your shampoo method may be the culprit. Don't pile your hair on your head and scrub to lather...Treat your hair like a cashmere sweater. Gently lather (if you do at all, some claim conditioner is enough) with quality shampoo....I like organic. Don't blow dry, if at all possible. And if you have to, use a diffuser. Hair will usually stay in the position it drys in, so style before it dries, and don't mess with it once it dries.
Put distilled water in a spray bottle with a drop or two of lavender essential oil and mist your hair then scrunch if it gets frizzy during the day.
Don't use a lot of product. That causes build up and damage. Just use a little clear gel on the ends.

It won't happen over night, but with proper care your hair will get healthier and frizz less!!

Do you blow-dry your hair often? If so use ThermaSilk products to keep the heat from drying out your hair. I also recommend a deep conditioner like Aussie 3 minute Miracle or Pantene Restorative collection. One more thought to instantly smooth it: Dove weightless moisturizers like the Frizz Control Cream. John Frieda's Hair serum and the new Sunsilk line of moisturizers is great

Gel is probably the better way to go if your hair is fairly curly. Otherwise, go with the mousse, as gel tends to weigh the hair down, and mousse is more for volume.
Also, try not to comb it after you wash it. I usually comb mine in the shower while the conditioner is on, then just scrunch it after it's out of the towel. This way, you are not disturbing the curl.
You can also try using hairspray...that seems to be the only thing that works on mine! Good Luck!
