it depends on if you have a fireplace or not.The tv should be visable from all chairs but if you have a fireplace then a couple of chair or couch should face that as well.swivel chairs can get you out of the mess all together.

Either the fireplace or the television. Most rooms don't have enough space to have two focal points. The other focal point is usually in another room.

I would not even place a TV in the living room. If you have guests you should be having a conversation. Put TVs in the den or bedroom.

That depends upon what you like. In my opinion the furniture should be arranged in a way where you can feel safe to hold a converstion and at the same time view TV if need be.

Not at my house. I use my fireplace as the focal point rather than the tv. It allows people to look at each other and carry on a conversation.

It just depends on what you want your focal point of the room.
If its the TV then sure.
