I weaned my daughter when she was about 15 months. We did it cold turkey. I didn't give in. We gave her a bottle with whole milk to drink. She'll get used to it. After some crying, she'll drink from the bottle and will eventually like it. About your breasts, I only pumped with a manual pump a little bit (less than ounce) just to ease the engorgement pain. Don't get a lot out of it since you're trying to stop them from filling up again. I did take some Motrin just to help with the pain. After two days or so, it was over.

You can buy a breast pump from any pharmacy. This extracts the milk so you don't hurt.
As for weaning, each child responds differently - you are in the best position to sense what will work with your child.
Are you thinking of replacing with a bottle? If so, it might make it easier for the transition period, by replacing ONE feed with the bottle and later another...
Since the feeds are before sleeping, she might have difficulty in falling to sleep without her 'security feed'... be sensitive to this and find ways of comforting her and putting her to sleep without it.
Be patient and don't expect it work first time off - if you're nervous or unhappy, it will make things worse for her.

To get your daughter from breastfeeding, you can give her a sippy when she goes to bed instead of breastfeeding her....
These are some articles that I found for you, I didn't know which one to pinpoint on, so I'll just give you the list and you can choose! All of them helped me!!!

It took me 2 days for the pain. Some people took longer. I tried not to take any drugs for the pain. What I did was squeeze some out when it was too painful. Good for you last this long. good luck.

The slower you wean, the gentler it will be on her AND on your body. Going slowly and gently should help you avoid having bad engorgement.

Pump your milk and put it in a bottle for her.
If you get more than enough for one feeding you can always put in the fridge and reheat it.
