Anyone have any ideas on what a stang can be used for, other than hanging charms?

A stang is a sturdy Y-shaped stave buried halfway in the ground with the tines pointing upwards. It's used like a verticle altar, to hang charms and talismans, offerings and the like by. It's usually just left there to absorb everything you give it until the weather finally takes it down.

Why bother with a stang, when you can accomplish everything with prayer? No, not prayer to the gods... prayer to God, the one who created everything.
