We had a cat we called Mistral after we found her on a windy night, she eventually answered to Leaf as she was forever bringing them in. Shadow can be male or female. Let your kitten discover its own name. You may find yourself giving it an endearment but remember you may have to shout its name outside. We have a Vet who always calls out the animals name followed by the owners surname. Tallulah, Jezebel,Daffodil made all the other clients laugh. What about Jake or Elwood after the Blues brothers. Ping Pong. Chess. Or just initials. We have one called T.Q for Top Quality but she answers to Tea.
Have fun and remember its vaccinations and to have it Neutered before it has kittens if it is female and done at around 6 months for male or female. Be a good and caring owner. Good Luck. Happy new Kitten.

What kind of cat is it? I have 2 Siamese cats, and I went onlne and researched Siamese (Thai) names. The same can be done for Norwegian Forest Cats, Persians, etc. It makes the name special when you take the time to really look for a good one.

I tend to watch their playing around and notice their characters for me to get a name. I have had many cats growning up and gave them unique names like Salem, Cairo, Spike, Fluffy, Cleo, Penny, Peaches, Garfield, but mostly I would observe them for a time and decide what to name them from their characters. From one cat person to another, Good luck.
