Some get a visa through the Embassy in Jordan. I read recently that we gave twice as many visas this year as last year.
Good luck!

You have to hold a Green Card for 5 years before you can become a citizen.
Best way is to have something (knowledge or skills) the US wants. EB1 for Aliens of Extraordinary Ability means you are internationally known and famous in your field (like winning a Nobel prize. If you have something less than that but still impressive, you may get EB2 as an Alien of Exceptional Ability; you can also get EB2 if you have knowledge or skills necessary for US national security or otherwise in the national interest. These are the "national interest" waiver. EB1 or NIW mean you can self-sponsor without Labor Certification.
Otherwise, you will need a sponsor, either an employer or a qualified family member. Employers have to go through Labor Certification to show there is no qualified US worker available to do the job at the prevailing wage (PW is established by the government). Family members typically must be US citizens to sponsor you for a Green Card.
Once you have a GC for 5 years, you can apply for naturalization to become a US citizen.

Hollywood. The world watches Hollywood movies, so they think all Americans are happy and wealthy and fortunate. Hollywood has brainwashed the world making them think it's so exciting and adventurous and beautiful, which it is but not like a billions times more than their homeland. Diversity. America accepts people of all different backgrounds, so if people are discriminated against for whatever reason at home, religious, sexual, gender, national, ethnic, they will get less of it in America. Food. Hungry? go to America. We got it all. Cheesburgers, pizzas, Chinese, Italian, hot dogs, big steaks, Thai, the world's kitchen really. Technology. Some people still take a donkey to work and live with livestock. They come to America to experience cutting edge iPod and iphones and fast cars and big flat screen TV's. Music. America has a wealth of modern music starting with jazz, then blues then rock then rap. It's all basically music from black American culture which you can't find anywhere else except when it's copied and imitated. Better and more drugs both legal and illegal. Better doctors and medical technology. If you're really sick, you want to go to America. Even in England they don't care if you die unless you're a multi-millionaire. Safety. America a really safe place, well so long as you stay out of Detroit. Seriously, if you get kidnapped here, you make cable news 24/7 and Dog the Bounty Hunter will help look for you. Hollywood, again or I should say fame. People come to America to become famous actors, producers, screen writers, authors, singers, musicians, entertainers. Science and universities. We have more Nobel prize winners and patents than any other country. We have the BEST higher education system. We have the most advanced technology and science labs.

If your life is being threatened then you can file an asylum application. I dont know how easy it is to get into the USA that way, so you might want to try a few other countries as well. Asylum application would be the way to go.

I would get a visitor's visa and then apply for political asylum. In order to get a green card through political asylum you must have a fear of returning to your home country on account of your race, religion, political opinion, membership in a particular social group, nationality, or fear that you will be tortured if you return to your country. I think that would be the easiest way for you!

I would contact a lawyer, and do it the legal way. It will probably take a lot longer but someday you will get here.

Cross the southern U.S. border. No one will stop you. Just ask the 12 million Mexicans illegally present in the U.S.
