Because they have enough faith in God to realize that he was smart enough to come up with a plan for everyones salvation that was going to work 100 percent of the time. This is what having complete faith in God looks like.

The people who don't realize this only have partial faith.

What kind of faith do you have Complete or partial?

Pascal's wager:

"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"

This is, of course, false.

Some of the problems with the argument:

* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)

* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell

* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else

* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.

* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (somebody mentioned just today praying several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.

* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?

* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

lol...here's the problem with being 'saved'. You can say, yes Jesus came into my heart and I'm saved now, but treat people like crap and live a 'sinful' life. You think that just because you're saved that you can get away with anything as long as you ask for forgiveness. It's an excuse for living ignorantly.

There's no such thing as hell or satan, by the way. That's just as mythical as medusa and cyclops.

From a theological standpoint you have made at least two errors in your question.

First, you have assumed that all atheists go to Hell. You don't know that.
Second, you see belief as purely a choice, when it is, in actuallity, a gift of grace from God.

Thus, the second point illustrates the first.

Yeah, believe what this guy does or face the threat of eternal damnation, idiots! Why take the chance of eternal peril by not giving the Almighty Bully his salvationist milk money? Gosh, you're all such idiots!

Crap- that makes ME an idiot, too! Oh, woe is me!

I'm Jewish...I don't need to be "saved". We don't believe in the idea of a place where souls are tormented for all eternity (what a disgusting, violent and mean-spirited idea!). And how many people do you think will listen to you when you call them "stupid"? Why are some Christians so riduculously ignorant?

Read the Apocolypse.
Christ says "I come quickly"

The Apocalypse Of Saint John
Chapter 22
16 I Jesus have sent my angel, to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and stock of David, the bright and morning star. 17 And the spirit and the bride say: Come. And he that heareth, let him say: Come. And he that thirsteth, let him come: and he that will, let him take the water of life, freely. 18 For I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book. 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from these things that are written in this book. 20 He that giveth testimony of these things, saith, Surely I come quickly: Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

Many Christians who do not agree that there will be a pre-tribulation rapture of the Church point out that it is a relatively new doctrine, first popularized in the 1800s and elaborated on subsequently. There are whole denominations that reject it for this reason. The Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox do not accept it either, as such a thing as "rapture" was never taught by any of their bishops, from the beginning. Instead of "being taken up into Heaven", these churches follow the scriptures (such as Isaiah) clearly describing a physical Kingdom of Heaven that will be on a renewed Earth, following the Great Tribulation, the Resurrection of the Dead, and Judgment Day. For all practical purposes no Christians held to the pre-tribulation rapture theory before Darby in the 1820s.

LOL

think about it
in heaven you have no free will, there is no sadness and no sin

you are forced to worship god for eternity. furthermore this god is the same who sent your family and loved ones to hell to be tourmented for all eternity.

tell me how does that sound like heaven?

this life we are living now, is proven to exist, i am here i know i am here. i cannot prove that there is an afterlife, thus why would i prepare myself for the life i dont know exists as opposed to live the life i DO know exists? which sounds more ignorant?

Depends on who you ask. I am assuming you are christian. As a Jew, for me to 'be saved' according to christianity would, in fact, be an eternal death sentence. Therefore I choose life and not christian salvation.

You may not like it, you may give me a thumbs down for saying it, but truth is truth.

OOh, got us there.

Now if I may ask, why do you refuse to be slaughtered in battle so that you may go to Valhalla with me? Are you really willing to take that risk?

(and do you really think your omniscient god can't tell the difference between a true believer and someone just hedging their bet)
