I'm 17 years old and I'll get myself a brand new car. Either Corrola or Civic. I like the look of the Civic, but which one is more reliable and fun to drive, and also give me your personal advise on the look of each car.
Don't worry about the pricing, because I got family in Lexus and Honda dealership, so I will get myself a nice little deal loll!

Talk to me about the specs, the power, the maintainance, the options, everything you can!!!! Thx!!!!!!! =)

I'd do the Civic, it is a recent redesign. The Corolla has been around for some time now, and a new one is due out in 2008. The Civic looks better in my opinion, more modern maybe.

They are both very reliable, and hold their values well.

The Honda is a little sportier, and has a more distinctive look. It handles better, and is a little quicker. I believe the Honda is also a little roomier inside. The Toyota is possibly a better long distance cruiser/road car. Fuel economy is similar.

Maintenance is not really an issue on a new car, and I do believe the new Honda's do not have the timing belts that need to be replaced.

Hondas are awesome! Excellent gas mileage and if you just put oil in them regularly they will go forever with minimal problems. I drove a 76 CVCC Civic for almost 20 years. It was totaled when some guy rear ended me - and I'm sure if that had not happened that I would very likely still be driving it. Then - an '88 Acura Integra (which is really a Honda). After 18 years - the engine did start to wear down - but it was still going. Now I have an '90 Honda Civic. The engine has been rebuilt and I expect to drive it for a loooooooooong time.

All of the cars above got/get 30 miles to the gallon in the city. They are not too peppy - or fast - but I am not big on that.

Before buying the used Civic - I looked really hard at the Fits. They are not civics - but they get great mileage - look really cool - are very roomy - and quite affordable for a brand new car. Back in the fall they were very hard to get - and dealers were charging over the sticker price for them. I don't know what's going on now.

Sorry - I can't tell you anything about Toyotas.

Good luck!!

hi,

I did a test drive of the Honda civic yesterday, engine is not so smooth, while sitting in it, it felt like one is sitting on the floor of the vehicle .I did not find it comfortable at all, and was not impressed with the performances while driving it.Then, I did a test drive with the Nissan versa , the engine sounded so smooth, and their is nothing cheap about this car, well built with high quality material and super cute interior design as well as good gas mileage. The Nissan versa Road performance was great with either the automatic or 6 speed manual. Also, I want to give respect to the Toyota corolla , even though i think ( they ) should come up with a sporty corolla hatchback. the Toyota corolla is, very smooth to drive with a quiet engine, great road performances, excellent gas mileage and extremely reliable. I would chose the Nissan versa for its look, performance, and reliability, compared to other cars in its class, and would chose a Toyota corolla for its performance and reliability. I can only share my personal opinion but at thee end, the choice is yours.

I would get a honda civic because you have more aftermarket parts for it then a corolla. If you were going to get one then I would go for the Si model. It has almost everything already that you will do to a car. Also it the right buck for the horsepower. Also ive heard that after a few years toyota tend to have electrical problems. Hondas the way to go.

I bought my son a 14 year old Toyota - which he drove for 3 years - other then a new battery ...no problems.

Hondas are awesome as well, I bought a Honda in 1974 - which I sold, still running with 263,000 miles on it 4 years laters.

They are both reliable cars.

Toyota all the way, Honda Civic is known to have problems with their transmission. Mine gave out twice, not once, but twice! Stay away.

Honda Civic, second to its bigger brother in best car of the year, keeps its price, safe and very reliable and made in England. Your problem will be getting insurance.

Neither one of them! They are both way over priced, and don't offer alot of value for the money. If you want to save a bit, and get a great car, look at the Ford Focus, or for the same price as the Corrolla or Civic, you could get a Ford Fusion or Mercury Milan, both way more car for the money. Good luck!
