The restroom is a good place to go if say you're in a restaurant and you have to take an important call and there is nobody in the restroom. A cell phone shouldn't be used in enclosed public places in the first place, it is bad etiquette. For example: gym, restaurant, church (yes, I've heard it), coffee shops, hospitals (unless it's part of your emergency--and if so it should be kept to minimal volume), retail stores (very annoying, especially to the retail clerks--I see it all the time), etc.

nicely, it is totally consumer-friendly at my excessive college. the scholars are actually not allowed to apply their cellular telephones for the time of school hours so lots of the youngsters call human beings interior the restroom whilst no one is around. each so often I even have an pressing message that won't be able to wait until after college, yet i don't elect to get in challenge for attempting to text cloth in school. i don't care if somebody else does it. If I did, i may well be a hypocrite. I shouldn't get penalized for employing my cellular at lunch time.

Not rude, just stupid and pointless. Cell phones aren't balls and chains. If someone calls you when it's not convenient, just let voice mail pick it up. If you need to call someone, wait until you're finished pissing - at least be that respectful of the person you are talking to.

Why, exactly, would this be anymore rude than talking to your girl friend in the restroom while you are touching up make-up or washing up? I see your point, probably feel the same as you, but wonder WHY? They aren't hurting anyone.

Not as rude as it is in a restaurant. Man that irritates me! I suppose I'd rather listen to someone talk on their phone in the bathroom then the other thing they would be doing in there.....

ewwwwwww! Now, the only time I've done it is when one of my children (14 and 8) have called me when I'm out running errands. (you never know if it's going to be "she won't stop hitting me, or "we had to call 911")
:)
But I say "are you ok?" then "let me call you back in two secs"
THEN I get out the hand sanitizer!!
but just to be talking? man that is soooo gross!

Me too. It's rude and vulgar. Unless it's a real emergency which is like 0.002% of the time.
