I don't want to have an antifungal oral medicine as I am already taking Zocor (both are bad for liver). Someone suggested Vics vapor rup for a few months. Is that true? Please help.

Go to a dermatologist. They handle this sort of problem.

There are a few alternative treatments that are a little more gentle on the liver but have a lesser success rate. I had the same problem and did pulse dosing of diflucan, I did a chlorine (or bleach) solution soak ever couple of nights for 30 min, and I used 2 topical antifungals (one was miconazole and the other the regular tolafanate stuff).

Good luck.

Vics vapor rub may work but it depends on the severity of the fungus. You can buy over-the-counter topical medication like Tineacide or Restore-AF. With those you really need to be consistent and apply them daily for at least 9 months. You can also ask your podiatrist for Penlac which is also a topical but you can only get it with a prescription.

you can buy over the counter topical ointment or treatments. My bf had a fungus and he used this kit in a green box with a nail brush, file, fungus treatment, and wash. it worked!
