Yes he was
exodus 2:11. One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.
12. Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

Yes he did kill the egyptian. He never hide out with Ali Baba as Ali Baba is a myth.

God never expects us to be prefect in order to follow Him, just that we lay our faults and flaws at His feet and follow His will, that is what Moses did

I don't know about the Alibaba and the 40n thieves part.........

But yes, Moses did murder an Egytian man in the account given to us in Exodus. The egyptian he has killed had just gotten done killing an Israelite and it outraged Moses so much that he took the Egyptian's life.

But, since Moses was not openly known among his own people as an Israelite....(read the opening of Exodus, it explain his birth...born Israelite, but his mother gave him up so he wouldn't be killed by the Pharoh. As it turns out ther daughter of Pharoh found him and Moses' mother served Pharoh's daughter, so it worked out as the Lord planned.)

Moses fled Egypt into the wilderness and was a shepherd for 40 years before the Lord called him to come back and lead his people to freedom out of the bonds of slavery in Egypt.

Hope that helps some

Moses was a commander in the army of pharoah,
he was guilty of slaying many men.
but of the one Task Master he slew, he did it defend a hebrew.
but jesus said very clearly every man that slays another is in danger of Judgment. More than likely God justified the death of the unrighteous task master.
Andother question arises with the children of abraham and how they conspired to kill their brother all all agreed except one, so insteand they sold him as a slave. But the question of the children of abraham becoming murderers does arise when they killed the entire family of the many who raped a certain daughter.
and of course another question of murder comes when Saul has all the coats of the priests who threw down their coats at his feet.
people Kill when they think they have to. Sometimes it is justifiable and self defense other times is pre meditated murder.
i dont think any of these are premeditated.
As for moses going to alibaba.?
i think he went to a place that gave him a wife and they were shepherds in the land of Midian. i dont believer there were any thieves where he went except the maybe the ones that he were at the well in Midian when they tried to hurt women dwelling water.

40 thieves?

Yes, he killed a man... It could be argued without cause. He may have seen it, at the time anyway, as defending a man. Of course, he wasn't welcomed in Egypt after that. So, he left and made a life for himself elsewhere.
