Well, yes, most men (not all) fantasize about threesomes, but... they're a good way to break up a relationship, even if the guy is interested. Keep in mind that many guys fantasize about having two girls at once...not many fantasize about two guys and one girl - especially if that girl is their girlfriend.
You'd be better off talking to him about it ahead of time, setting some ground rules for the threesome, and giving him a veto over whom you choose to include.
I suppose you could always have a little drinking party for three and end up in bed together, then blame it on the alcohol if things go wrong.
Really, though...if you're bored with the relationship, a threesome is only going to make those flaws more apparent, not solve anything. Maybe it would be fairer (and kinder) to him just to split up?

Not all men do, but many do. If the relationship is on the rocks, I suppose you can't make it any worse. What a breakup gift: "Honey, I'm sorry, I can't date you anymore. Can we just have a threesome instead? I've got the other girl all picked out."
Better yet... "Honey, this is Jane. She's going to be my replacement. Tonight I'm going to show her all the things you like so it's not like you're just starting over. Have fun with the rest of your life together."
Seriously though, I would at least try to bring the subject up with him and get his opinion. If he was raised super religious and finds the idea disgusting, then when you show up with another girl he might freak out or faint or something. What a mood killer.
Also, you said you were getting bored with him, is it another girl or a guy you're bringing into the bedroom? He's more likely to freak out if it's a guy than if it's a girl. If it's a girl, most guys will like the idea. If it's a guy, most guys will not.

I dont fantasise about threesomes but i agree, if the 3rd person is a dude then he wont be surprised,....YOU may be surprised though, especially if the bf beats you upside the head for bringing in another guy

I think that some men do but more 2 women and them!!!!I don't know if it would be a good idea to be sitting in the bed room waiting 4 him with another women if you get what I meen!!Has he ever mentioned it can I ask you something tho......you sure that this isnt your fantasy.Your the one who is bored...and fancy abit of lip licking fun.....I think that you need to approach the subject some how first. as long as you get a female then he will be okay. Could be fun, but accepting a third into the bed can be risky. Make sure you set the rules of what is expected and not expected.

id say yes if your talking 2 women and 1 man and if you are he is a lucky lad whatever reason your doing it how ever if you are talking about 2 men and 1 woman then personally i think he'd get the hump good luck either way and i hope you all enjoy yourselves if you decide to go for it

If your relationship is bound for the rocks, then what have you to lose by doing this act.

I DON'T think you should surprise him with that if you have never even talked about it before. You'd probably freak him out. He might later become suspicious that since you did something so bold maybe he doesn't really know you.
