Am I the only one who is tired of disrespectful questions and religious intollerance in this section? I thought this section was here so we could learn about eachother.

Ideally it is here for knowledge and tolerance, unfortunately this is an imperfect world. Some days are better, some worse. We have all felt the way you do right now at some point. This is a question that has arose many times and one I too have asked in dismay.

Take heart and take a break. There are many honest and heartfelt posts here. I have learned much from my fellow Y!Aers.

Unfortunately boukenger makes an excellent point... If non-christians seem disrespectful and intollerant to you a Christian, imagine how rude and intollerant we as Christians MUST seem to non-christians?

Imaging if before you were a Christian someone told you that even though you are a really nice guy, who feeds the poor, helps little old ladies across the street and is kind to children and small animals, you are still going to burn in hell if you don't believe what I believe...

In reading the responces in these posts I sometimes have difficulty determining who's Christian and who's not... If we (Christians) want to be respected for our beliefs, then we first have to learn to be respectful and respectable. This is not directed at you my friend... but to All Christians.

Be encouraged friend. Many unwittingly betray the causes they advocate through their unkind words and ideas.

Whatever one's position or viewpoints without self-control and kindness of disposition toward others, that opinion is meaningless.

We can learn in this section even from those who do not have moral excellence as their aim.

We can learn not to copy their example and as Christians, we can learn how great is the need for the power of God to transform human nature.

Be encouraged and pray for these poor souls who destroy themselves with their own words.

I myself was scared when I read some of the thing on here I am a strong believer of God and no one can take that from me nor can I but my beliefs in someone else head but I can reach out to them and tell them about the God I know this is what we are suppose to do don't criticize them for not believing but love them because you believe don't let a non believer take your blessing from you but yet preach to them about what you believe in, in the Bible that is what the Disciples did and that's how the word got around that God is real also know that the devil is real never let these question are answers discourage your BELIEF'S and teach others

Nope, this section is here so that everyone can argue and shout and loudly proclaim their rightness, smug in the belief that everyone else is wrong. It should be in a disclaimer somewhere. No actual questions are asked here, since the people asking already have a biased opinion on the subject, and the people answering respond to that with their own biased opinion. There are no facts. 42.

No. I do not even mind atheist and agnostics being in this section; itis the grossly disrespectfulness of 'Christians' and others in Y R&S that presently bother me.

No you are not, I too am tired of all the disrepect people have here.
People like to make fun of someones religion and as Christians we should be showing love not hate!

God Bless You

It's sad but don't let it get you down. Christian belief can seem to bring out the worst in people; they will deliberately be offensive and hostile. But hey, the Bible warns believers that this will happen, and in any case the Church exists for the people who do not belong to it, i.e the unsaved.

sadly, you are not the only one. I wish you were the only one, because that would mean all the stupid religious questions would go away, but, sadly, they just keep coming.

Here's a good one:
I saw a butterfly on a daisy today, how can that not mean that God is everywhere?

What the F*** people, get a life.

Remember, Jesus said that those who were of this world would behave exactly as those you decry are doing.

Be patient. Pray for them. And otherwise ignore them, unless they cross the bounds of good taste or courtesy. Then report it.

The rest of us can ask and answer around them.
