I'm young (under 25) and while I don't usu. wear hats, I do tip them to other women as I'm passing by (unless it's some big outdoor gathering, in which case, it'd be kind of silly). I also take off my hat when I enter buildings.
I think it's a nice gesture and while a bit archaic, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Unfortunately, hey don't----they will not even hold the door open for a elderly woman now days.Plus very few men wear hats---they like caps.I know where I was raised---South east Texas---they do more often than here....Ca.

I've seen the southern men do it in Virginia and No. Carolina. I think some still do in parts of Europe too.

i have found older men still tip their hats.but younger ones do not I think it shows respect and alot of under 40 do not have respect for women

I do. It's classy, shows respect, and is a mild form of flirting. Shows I saw her. I get a lot of pretty smiles that way.
