I's suggest discussing it with your daughter rather than a bunch of strangers.

I just got married in August. My mother walked me down the aisle as well as my dad, so my mother and I discussed it and thought that it would look better if she matched the color scheme, as she was part of the processional. I let her choose her own dress of course, and it was a shade darker than the bridesmaids. (Our scheme was blue) She chose a fancy sun-type-dress that was above the knee. It looked nice. I think if it were any other color, it would have looked weird because of her being in the processional. But if you are not in the processional, you can still match the color scheme if you want, go a shade darker or lighter. Anything goes these days as opposed to the past where Mother of the Brides wore Neutral boring colors and were long sleeves and long skirts. Wear something you would normally wear to any wedding in the summer. Have fun shopping!

It depends if it is an elegant evening affair, or a more casual gathering.

On the more formal side, I would go with something that sparkles, whether that is gold or silver...whichever looks best on you. I'm not talking about a gold dress, but maybe a sparkling shawl or cardigan.

If it is more casual, then I would go with something in ivory or a light purple...again, depending on what colors you look best in. Definitely more pastels for a summer wedding though.

Go for a dark ivory, or gold, or a color that goes with her flowers, and bridesmaids dresses, talk to the his mother to and make sure you dont have the same dress but that the colors go. Trust me it'll look so much better in the pictures if everything has the same colors.

My mother wore silver to my wedding and a lite spring green color to my brother's wedding. I'd go with a nice summer colorful color.

Nowadays there are no set rules as to the colors you can wear as long as it seasonally appropriate. Pastels, ivory, beige. Check with your daughter and ask her if she has a preference for you afterall this is her special day.

Well what are her wedding colors? I would get something that matches one of the colors, particularly the primary color, or a lighter shade to match and accent.

It depends on what colors look good on you. I wouldn't go with red or black, but a muted or light shade that doesn't clash with the colors that she has chosen would be best.
