Funny how one person says 'yeah - download a free trial from autodesks website' and the other person says 'no you can't download autocad'

if you are feeling frisky, you can find full versions of autocad on various file sharing programs, but if the feds show up at your door, then i didn't tell you anything

i use ACAD 2004 architectual desktop at work, so by the time i go home, the last thing i want to do is look at cad anymore

autocad is free to download but only lasts for a short amount of time before you need a registration code which is unique to both the individual package and the individual computer. I have acad and don't to be honest use it as often as I use google sketchup for the reason you can do everything you can do on acad on sketchup and then make it 3d. The other way is file sharing but for god sake virus scan it before you even touch it because a file that big is enough to cause some serious damage to a computer if someone wanted to.

AutoCAD is not a 'free' program for download.
If you are just starting out on CAD, I would recommend Autosketch which is the 'slim' brother of AutoCAD. Follow this link to one on sale on EBAY[includes full product details].

Good luck.
