No Islam is not a Macho religion, if you think so then it is the media around you that is making you believe so. You may like to read other non western media to enlighten yourself further
Religion whether it is Islam or any other, demands equal responsibility of both men and women. This responsibility however may not be shared in the same way but it is weighted equally.
For example if two students were to sit an exam, each with the same sheet of paper and the same questions and one person got a full question correct and the other scored fully in another question, but their overall mark was the same. similarly the labour is divided in separate ways between men and women depending on their capabilities.
Cultural variations will differ and the amount of work distributed between men and women will be different, This is a man made issue and is NOT related to religion as religion is a universal concept and not associated to a particular country or continent.
sorry to go on a bit but hope it helps

I was stunned to see a Muslim man walk unburdened between two heavily laden women - one obviously his mother, the other his wife. I'd assumed he had a bad back.
BTW many African countries do this. The logic is that the man should be free to protect the women if danger should suddenly appear. Like a lion. Or is that what they tell them?

what do you know about Islam ?
if you studied Islam , you would never ask such a Q
anyway both men and women are equal in rights and obligations in Islam
however there are some differences between them in certain things but certainly Allah has honoured the women and provided her with rights , she didn't have before Islam

Cultures always get in the way of religion. So a muslim from one country has different cultural views compared a muslim from another country.
I've seen and know many muslims from different cultures and they have different views. Some don't mind women working, others do.
Its not religion to blame.... its trying to mix culture and religion together

Undoubtedly a male dominated religion, which has many discriminations against women.
A woman's testimony as a witness is worth only half that of a man's, (this is just one of many examples).

Never.
see in the holy Quran Surah 4. Women verset 34
34. Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means.
