Isn't it odd that Christian arguments both use human logic (like the unmoved mover physics argument) to deduce the existence of God and also claim that God can NOT be defined by human logic? Personally, I'd stick with the latter argument. Honestly, I think the universe, regardless of the presence of God, cannot truly be comprehended by the human mind anyway.

Agreed on both counts.

It is idiotic to invent a rule to prove the existence of something and then arbitrarily except the thing you are trying to prove from the rule you used to 'prove' it. If you don't know where the universe came from just say so rather than make something up.

And of course, you are completely right on the second point. The human brain has evolved to observe and interpret things so as to provide a survival advantage. The only things that provide it a survival advantage are those on a human scale. However adaptable our brains have since proven themselves to be it is inconceivable that all of existence is comprehensible to the human mind.

Of course the fact that we can't comprehend everything doesn't make the (as Zero cool pointed out) "rabbit out of the hat" explanation any less nonsensical.

I don't think it is odd. We get to use our common sense, and also are blessed with having revelation from God. If good science, supports the bible, there is no point in getting angry. It would be like shaking your fist at the moon. It makes sense that god cannot be defined fully from human logic, we are humans, not gods! The unmoved mover argument, makes great sense, and supports the bible. It is just very upsetting to people that want so bad for it not to be true. Realize though, that while God does not have to prove himself, he is obviously revealing himself, throughout his creation, and through the written word, and through the spirit. He is just trying to get your attention. Man, we are a stubborn race!

Zero cool, funny you say that we pull a magic rabbit out of a hat for convenience....it could be, that they are right, because look around you ,there is life! And it is complex! Why do you fight so hard against what is obvious??

Don't you know that the God who made the mouth can communicate to you? The bible is God communicating to us in words we can understand. Their is no mystery. Just read john 3:16 or Romans 3:23 or Romans 6:23. He offers life. We simply need to say yes or no. I hope you choose life.

True dat
I love the poor attempts at logic as well, as well as use of science to prove something patently unscientific

Oh yeah, THAT illogic. First they claim that nothing, NOTHING, moves on it's own. Nothing. And then... they pull a magic rabbit out of the hat. They conjure up a convenient "exception" because it would make for a tidy solution to their "dilemma". Same with the uncaused causer.
