Try www.volunteermatch.org, www.faithinaction.org or www.networkforgood.org. You can also try calling the United Way for your county, and try a local house of worship.

There are quite a few volunteer centers in SC, but I can't seem to find one very close to your location. However, of the three volunteer centers listed at the Volunteer Center directory may be able to help you:
http://www.pointsoflight.org/centers/directory.cfm?State=SC
From the Hands on Network, there are locations in Charleston and Greenville.

The Charleston location is still working on their website. I have provided a few links to help you get to some of these organizations. They may be able to direct you to specific opportunities closer to your area. Volunteer centers typically have the resources and access to various non-profit agencies with affiliations that cross county and state lines.
Another great option is the United Way. They provide volunteer matching services as well. Your local chapter is United Way of the Midlands. Here's their web site:

Good luck!
