I am so amazed that this question is being asked here, as opposed to asking your boyfriend. I'll be even more amazed if a stranger has the answer, because, ultimately, it depends on your boyfriend, nobody else.

This question can really only be answered by your boyfriend. But for my opinion I'm going to assume you're referring to a relationship with another girl and not a friendship, because he shouldn't have a problem with you having a friend.
Now, I've had this conversation with my girlfriend because she is bi-sexual and is interested in having a three-some with another girl. I told her to begin with that if we were going to be in a serious-relationship with marriage potential we couldn't be seeing other people, same-sex or not, and that we couldn't have a three-some until we had been together long enough that we completely trusted each other.
The reason I said that is because having a three-some will tear a relationship apart if it isn't extremely strong. Right now we haven't been together that long so we do have insecurities when it comes to trust so that kind of relationship would tear us apart right now.
Once we trust each other completely we will be able to have a three-some and know that we don't stand a chance of losing the other.
So, in your case, I'd say if you're in a serious relationship with your boyfriend, don't even think about dating anyone else, be it male or female. If you're not in a serious relationship then feel free, you're not tied down, but I'd be nice enough to let him know first to see how he feels about it.
I hope this helped.

It all depends on how open of a relationship the two of you have. If you are open with each other then I see no problem. Then again is he the jealous type? Is he religious? Have little comments been made of this subject by him? The more communication you have with each other the more comfortable he will be.

Depends on how your partner feels about it....First off, are you a guy or girl?? If you are a girl with another girl, it still depends how your bf feels because some guys would love to see two girls together, however if you are a guy who wants a girl then hmmmm. still got problems
