I can relate to this on a personal level, I live in Germany and am 17yr old (American Citizen).
I have also moved 9 times in 17 yrs.
When my parents told me we were moving to Germany (about 2 yrs. ago), I was excited I saw it is a great opportunity to delve into the rich German culture, and make German friends, I currently am a senior at an International School. And there is nothing like living here.
It is an opportunity not many people can say they've done, and it is certainly a great thing to grow up with. I would do it in a heartbeat, and dont worry about hurting their self-esteem because it will only help it.

It really depends on your kids' age and other factors as well. It would for some, but wouldn't for others. One thing I know for sure that is that your kids probably won't have a lot of childhood friends or close friends as they grow older since they have moved so much and haven't had that time to establish long lasting friendships. It might not hurt their self esteem, but it may emotionally scar them. But, yea, it really depends on the kid's age, upbringing. Or you should just really talk to your kids and ask them how they feel. Wouldn't hurt to ask.

Absolutely not. Moving is a part of life. If your family is together and happy. This could be the time of their lives. What a wonderful opportunity to learn new culture and travel. So if the family would be staying together (mom and dad and kids under one roof) then YES do it.

I think if you make it positive for them it will be easier.Children mimic their parents. Also explain to them your reasons for moving and how it wIll benefit them. But most important hold your family together and keep it strong. Your children will know you love them and want what is best for them.

IT MAY BE A GOOD OPPORTUNITY...
YOU HAVE MOVED TOO MANY TIMES IF YOU ASK ME....
BUT IT ALL DEPENDS IN THEIR AGE AND IF YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO STAY THERE FOR A LONG TIME THEY MIGHT UNDERSTAND....
BUT AGAIN....
WHAT ARE THEIR AGES....
TEENAGERS DONT USUALLY TAKE MOVING TOO GOOD....

They will observe new cultures and make foreign friends. What could be bad about that?
