I like tattoos some of them are cute, sweet. I don't want a huge one or somewhere, where it's too showy, you know. What do you think?

you really need to get something that is special to you. The worst thing you could do is get something cliche like a butterfly or a fairy. Please respect yourself enough to be original! Find a tattoo artist that you trust & respect & the two of you can sit down for a consultation. get it behind your calf or on the back of your rib cage.

Get something that says... "I love this. This is who I am...its beautiful & I'm proud of it!!!"

I would say a butterfly on your back or maybe a rose on your ankle. You could also but your initials on a banner on the rose or maybe have a cross on your ankle. I guess it really depends on your taste and what you think is cute or what you think is sweet. But if it was me getting a tatto I would do a butterfly on my lower back or I would have a rose on my ankle. I think that something that anything thats small and is a little girly would look cute. But thats just my opinion. I guess it also depends on how the tatto looks. Other suggestions for a tattoo is a cool design on your lower back, a sun on the back of your shoulder, or maybe a symobl. Those are just some of my ideas.
I think that what ever you pick it should be in a cute spot like your ankle, lower back, or maybe even belly button but that might be pushing it i'm not sure. You should also consider where would the tatto hurt the least. You don't want it right on the bone because that might hurt. What ever you do don't get one of some guy because you never know how you will feel about him tomrow.

Ankle or foot, maybe even shoulder blade area are nice places to put a tattoo that won't be too 'showy'

If you are having a hard time figuring out what to get tattooed on you, I suggest browsing the internet or local tattoo shops for flash images you can use to help brainstorm ideas. Or have an artist draw something custom for you. Good luck.

A bluebird, cartoon character, loads to choose from. Search any tattoo site on Google. Type free tattoos, and you can see for yourself. Usual places are wrists, ankles, shoulders.

How about a cherub? If you can find a really good portrait artist I think that'd be a very nice tattoo for a mature women.
Maybe on your ankle area.

When I went to get my second to most recent tattoo, my mom decided it was time for her first, she was 54 at the time. She got an rose on her left calf, with my dad's name across the leaves about halfway down, and she absolutely loves it! now she is thinking about getting a second one!

Although often referred to as as Tramp Stamp I like a little tattoo at the base of a women's back. It can be a Celtic knot, dragonfly, or whatever you like.

Tattoos are trashy, especially on women. And over 40, aren't you starting to sag just a bit? Think about it in 10 years.
