i don't think they'll be very cooperative

but if you smack it with a fly squatter.........

Someone wrote an article in the Readers' Digest back in the early 70's about training a housefly...but that's crazy, they only live for a day or two. So, no.

Theoretically they can be house trained, but that would take months to do. And since they only have a life span of 3 days, it's probably not going to happen. You're better off just using a fly swatter and smashing their brains out!

They don't have any concept of humans, or the rewards that go with it, they go by their own instinct and behaviour - so no is the answer to your question! Domestic animals with larger brains are much more responsive to human traits.

the answer is of course no, they do not have the same ability for learned behaviour and mine always drown in their water bowls
