I wouldn't recommend GHDs as i have had them twice and they may keep ya hair straight all day but both of mine broke- the first pair's wire started to fall out so i used insulating tape to keep it attached and then one day sparks came out of it, and the second pair started switching off by themselves! I've never heard of GHS but they may be good. I would recommend Babyliss Pro 230, i bought them about a month ago and i think they are fab! They are just like GHDs except they're cheaper (usually around £50/£60) and hopefully safer!! They go up to 230 degrees but there is a temperature dial so you can change the temperature. I would also recommend a hair product called 'Schwarzkopf OSIS Flatliner Flat Iron Hair Serum' which helps to smooth and reduce frizz (I buy it from my hair salon). I use it every day and it does work!
p.s. if you decide you want to buy some Babyliss Pro 230 straighteners then I'd suggest buying them from Argos because they have been reduced from £59.99 to £39.99!
Hope this helps!

I'm going to suggest a Solia straightener.
I have tried babyliss, chi, and some other brand I forget.
However, my solia has been the best! and not just because it's mine! lol.
Also many celebs have my straightener and the girls off Laguna Beach (show on mtv) so I'm thinking that's pretty cool!
here's the link to my solia.
http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1691.html
the site you order from www.folica.com and I love the site!
they have good deals, fast shipping and warranties.
My solia has been amazing!
I live in florida so you'd think as soon as I walk outside my hair would turn into a poof but it doesnt! It stays smooth and shiny all day and all night!!
I don't have to use a protector because the iron is soo great. it hasn't damaged my hair yet and I got it back in May.
I strongly suggest it!!

Unfortunately, GHDs are pricey... but they are the best..
You could look on ebay for some...
Even GHDs don't necessarily keep your hair straight ALL day, it depends on the conditions... i.e, if it's humid or rainy, your hair will go wavy again (well, mine does!)
If you go for some cheaper straighteners, you might just have to keep going over and over the same section of hair to get a good effect.
Good luck!

Your straightener is probabley cheap. Im guessing under 100 dollars. I used to have one that was crap. You need to buy a desent straightener for $100 or more. It kinda sucks they have to be expensive, but it's worth it. Also, get it from a hair specialist store. Not a drug mart or anywhere like wal-mart. and make sure the straightener would be good for your hair type whether it's fine, normal, or course. One more thing, when you straightener make sure to use clips and straighten layer by layer.

GHDs are simply the best! I have tried so many straighteners and none of them kept my hair straight like GHDs. Im afraid if you want straight hair all day, you'll have to get some! Mine were £90 from lookfantastic.com. Expensive, i know!

My sister has got really thick hard to straighten hair, so i bought her some 'Nicky Clark kinder to hair' straighteners, they were half price in argos, about 25-30 pounds, there much hotter than ghd's and better in my opinion, GHD's only heat to 210c and these ones are 230c. Just look at the temps before you buy them

I just bought a Remmington Tourmaline. Suprisingly it was only $40! I bought it at Ulta. Regular Remmingtons are also very good. I decided to buy a Tourmaline becuase it had more things that applied to me. Tourmaline just means that there are little crystals inside it to inhance the performance. Mine is a black outside with pink plates. Oh! I also reccommend a Ceramic. Those work best!.....but make sure it is a real ceramic, not the fakies!
