depends how old you both are. have u never talked about this before? in 12 years? if not thats not a good sign. but ask him how he feels about marriage. if he says he doesnt want to get married u have to decide wether or not you want to stay with him!

Oddly enough, I know of two couples who had been together for 12 years each and finally the women broke up with them because of lack of commitment. Then both men found someone else and didn't lose any time getting married and having children. So I think an ultimatum is in order.

It seems like we are missing many details to this question. Such as how old are you? Maybe you are 24 now and have been together since you were 12. He may want to marry you but wants to finish his college education first. Or maybe, well you know the saying about the milk and the cow!

I am not totally sure if he will marry you but if you love him and believe in him then you should still stay with him. Maybe you should ask him if he ever thought about settling down and leave hints about marriage to him, he might get the point.

are you not happy that you still both living together? what is marrying anyway? its just a piece of paper. there are some relationship that i know that they were living together for years and years and years and everythings smooth and easy, then they deside to get married a week after.. they both have hells always argue and fight they devore but they still live together...

i've been with my girlfriend 4 and 1/2 years. we alwase talk about it. we plan on getting married. we just need to find a way to stay financially secure. but we love each other and we can talk to each other about anything. after 12 years, u haven't even talked to him about it? you two should talk. find out what you both want. don't waste time.

No. Twelve years is a long time to be with someone and not be married to them. He could be afraid of marriage and committment.

my cousin an her man were together for 14 years an they didnt get married until last year.. dont give up on him, he might not know how important it is to him.. Sit him down an talk to him about it..
