Supply your puppies with enough toys, stimulation and excersise. Dogs that are bored and have energy will usually find something destructive to do. A tired dog is a good dog

You can try sprinkling the ground with cayenne pepper and lightly wet it so the pepper leaches into the ground to stop digging. It's recommended not put the cayenne around your vegitable, fruit garden.

edit- some people have built sand boxes and they hide treats and toys in the sand for the dogs to dig up and find. A good place for a dog to dig!

When my greyhound was alive, I had this same problem! He dug huge holes in my backyard. He preferred to dig in the shady parts of the yard. I know that some people say not to let the dogs hang around the backyard. However, my dogs love it outside. With my greyhound, I was able to keep his digging confined to one area. Good luck!

Dogs dig when they are left outside for too long and get bored. Make sure when you let them out to go potty it's only for a short amount of time and keep them supervised. The minute they go potty, bring them back in.

you could try puting some pebbles (not any sharp ones) in the dirt and next time they dig, some dogs dont like the feeling of pebbles between their toes while they dig. or you could "stand guard" and every time they begin to dig, tell them no and make sure they understand the behavour is unacceptable.

When I had this problem, I put huge rocks all across the bottom of the fence on both sides. Or you can install a cinder block fence if your town allows it in the ordinances.
