Here are a couple of things to think about:

1. Breakfast is literally that--a breaking of the nighttime fast. By the time you get up in the morning, you probably haven't eaten in 10 to 12 hours. If you don't eat until lunch, add another 4 to 6 hours, by which time hunger is liable to "trick" you into overeating. Eating breakfast, even a small one, will help control excessive eating later in the day.

2. Whether or not you buy into the Atkins or South Beach diets and others like them, you have to accept one underlying fact that they all have in common--managing blood sugar is very important for weight loss and overall health. When you wake up in the morning, your blood sugar level is already low. A breakfast of protein or complex carbohydrates will bring your blood sugar back up to the level where you can think and act optimally. If you wait several more hours to eat, or if you eat a breakfast loaded with simple carbohydrates (syrup, refined sugary cereals, etc.), you are certain to get a huge spike in blood sugar. Your body will compensate for this sugar surge by producing more insulin. This insulin reaction has three detrimental effects. First, it produces the "down" feeling you get after the sugar rush fades. Second, it signals the mitochondria in your cells to keep converting blood sugar into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the "juice" that powers all of the other cell functions. As long as the mitochondria are switched into this sugar-to-ATP mode, they will not convert ketones from stored body fat into ATP, meaning the fat just keeps building and is never used. Finally, long term overconsumption of sugar can "break" your insulin production and regulation mechanism, at which point you must rely on serious dietary control and/or supplemental insulin to keep you alive--diabetes, in other words.

So you see it's just like they used to sing on "Schoolhouse Rock" (my apologies if you're too young to remember this): "You've got to eat some kind of breakfast every day!" It's good for your general health, and important for the success of your weight-loss goals.

You should eat breakfast. All night long, your body is on a "fast" and in the morning, you need PROTEIN! Not sugar or carbs, because these give you a quick lift, burn off fast, and leave you hungry for more carbs.

I'm not a big breakfast eater, but try to eat something with protein. Sometimes I'll just grab a piece of cheese.

Check out some smoothie recipies with protein, like a raw egg. You don't taste the egg. Kind of like egg nog, with fruit.

If you eat fruit, be sure you have some protein with it -- always. Like an apple with cheese or peanut butter. Your body attacks the protein first, and your insulin is regulated. If you eat fruit without protein, your body goes into an insulin high, burns off fast, and then you feel the cravings and you get sluggish.

Check out the book "The Maker's Diet." I also bought "The Maker's Diet for Losing Weight."

You'd be surprised how eating certain foods with certain foods makes a big difference in weight loss.

A lot of nutritionists say yes. Your body is kind of on standby and conserves fuel when you don't eat for too long. When you eat, you get it revved up and it burns more fuel ( calories). I know I am trying to lose weight and have started eating breakfast. Two pounds off so far so..? Try just a piece of fruit or one cracker with a little peanut butter on it. Just a little will help. Make you more alert too.

You are going to drop some weight in the event you switch to eating the three small ingredients a day. When you don't devour for a long interval of time like you've got been doing, your physique goes into starvation mode, which is clearly when your body holds onto calories loads longer than it could in the event you had been to devour meals previous to that of the last meal. With the aid of eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, it continues your metabolism moving for the period of the day, which burns more calories.

Yes your right you should eat breakfast every morning because if you don't, like me you might get cravings later on in the day which leads to snacking out on things that are not good. Try a weetabix as they are not extravigant but will fill you up til lunch.

you will drop extra pounds in case you turn to eating the three small food an afternoon. once you do no longer consume for a protracted quantity of time such as you have been doing, your physique is going into starvation mode, that's in certainty while your physique holds onto energy plenty longer than it may in case you have been to consume ingredients previous to that of the final meal. via eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, it retains your metabolism shifting throughout the day, which burns extra energy.

It is best to eat a full breakfast so you can burn it off during the day and not eat as much later.

eating breakfast boosts your metabolism sooner in the day so that you burn more calories. Your metabolism slows down when you leave your stomach emptly like that...therefore you burn less calories.
