Man, she is waving a red flag in front of your face, that she is not mature enough to realize the ring is symbolic. You have a big decision to make - and I hope it's not going into debt over something like a ring for her, when you both should be working for a future together. If I were you, I would just buy her the ring you choose, that is nice, and within your own budget - and not even at the high end! I sure hope you have talked a lot with her about other things post-marriage - you need to get her opinions on bank accounts, work, child rearing, buying clothes and stuff, etc. I have a feeling she is high maintenance, or will always want what the Jones' have - and her friends. Think long and hard, dude.....

I have two solutions for you - one, tell her that she should be interested in how much you love her and the fact that you want to marry her, than the size of the ring. If she wants a 3 carat then she should help you pay for it. The other solution I don't want to tell you here, send me a message and I'll tell you a secret about engagement rings that my fiance and I discovered. I have a BEAUTIFUL 2.04 carat Tiffany solitaire - all my girlfriends ooh and awe and they are just shocked. It was expensive, but not as expensive as you would think. In fact, there is a picture of it on my 360 page. Check it out.

My question is: Does she want you or the ring?? When my hubby asked me to marry him, I wouldn't have cared if my ring came from a gum machine....I knew that I was going to get to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend!! That's all I needed.
Is she in this relationship for love or "things"? You need to really sit and think about what it means that she is SO concerned about needing the same things, or better, than her friends...My friend, there may be a huge realization headed your way...

Get her a big fake one. If she really loved you and your relationship she would know that you are getting the best that you can. You can maybe try to negotiate. Get her a smaller engagement ring and then buy her a wrap at a later date

Get her a ring off QVC then dump her! It's never about the size of the ring....but if that's how she feels about it you better watch out! Next she is going to force you to buy the bigger house, the more expensive car ect ect.....

If you marry this woman it will be the biggest mistake of you life her attitude is backwards she is more interested in trying to impress her friends and keeping up with the Joneses than you. Eventually you will not measure up and you will be broke to boot.

Man, that's a bummer, she's gonna cost you big $$ in the long run. Doesn't she know that money can't buy love or happiness.

You know what...man, she sounds greedy. She doesn't want you..she wants what you can materialistically give her.
Sounds like a not so nice woman.
