I'm not sure if he hurt himself running up and down the stairs, or playing outside. But it seems to be his hind legs or lower back that hurts. He's not getting up to eat or drink. What can I do until I can get him to a Vet?

HOD is a horrible disease. My Great Dane suffered from that when he was a pup. I hope you've been feeding your Weim a large breed puppy formula. In either case, I'm missing some important info. Does he have diarrhea? Has he had all his puppy vaccines? Is he vomiting at all? I wouldn't wait until you have time to get him to a vet, I'd drop what I was doing and take him now! It's extremely unusual for an otherwise healthy puppy to not want to move, especially a high energy dog like a Weim. Good luck

Whoa! Do not try to make him stand up. Get him to the vet. Even if you can't afford it. Call with Weimaraner rescue to help - someone will step up and loan you enough to find out whats wrong. Call a local club or breeder to help.

I suggest you phone your local vet and ask them what the problem could be.
It could be something as simple as a muscle cramp to something much more serious. I would try to make him stand up, if he wont or can't then I would get him to an emergency vet straight away. I know they charge more but your dog is worth it.

Just leave him alone until you can get him to a vet. Hope it isn't HOD. That is how my brothers dog acted when he had HOD.
