We hug, but only people we know well. We are a little more reserved about public shows of affection than Argentinians are.
Feel free to drop by & give me a hug if you are ever in South West London.

I cant stand hugs , I hate them , I am not worthy of a hug from anyone , I feel so inadequate , so unworthy of any affection , despite being just 19 years old , and extremely rich , and going to the gym 3 times a week , and allot of people say I look just like Justine Timberlake , I cant find anyone who would hug me in the UK

Thugs. It is thugs we don't like. Most people from all countries hug and we are no different over here in England. A very popular way to end letters is the common use of Hugs and Kisses. I would like to know where you got your info on this from. It is incorrect I have to tell you. Big Hugs.

Oh yes, we like hugs up here, but remember, we are northern Europeans, not Mediterranean types, so body contacts isn't as much of a custom as maybe you are used to.
I however, love hugs and kisses, and I like Argentine people too. Feel free to give me a hug anytime x

That's bizarre! I've never heard that!
I'm English, and I adore hugs!
I guess you mean the English aren't as 'touchy-feely' a nation, compared to say, the Italians...
I must admit.. we have a large Portuguese community where I live, and they are very expressive people, with their gestures, touching, etc... I think English people are maybe afraid to touch/hug in case it was considered impolite/rude.

Us Brits. are not so touchy feely as folk from other countries and it's a bit of a shame. I suppose it comes from living on an island and being a bit insular in outlook( I don't like that, I've never tried it before!) Give us time and a few people like you and we'll start to get it right.

I'm english n i love hugs
in general though english people tend to not be as physically expressive as other nations at least in public anyway. I'll never forget my czech friend who thought nothing of resting her hand on your thigh when sitting talking to you! my brother almost took it the wrong way when she did it to him lol
