do you also believe in leprechauns, unicorns, trolls and hobgoblins? Just wondering cause I think there is as much proof that those things exist as any other mythical being. I mean they are in a book, right?

The bible itself is the biggest argument AGAINST the existence of God! With all the killings, torture, inconsistencies, inaccuracies and outright lies, it is impossible for a sane, logical person to still believe it.

I mean, God even repents at least 10 times in the bible! Why would the "perfect" being have to repent?

Yes I do believe because of the Bible, but then that is the only valid source of information I have on God's word. As to mythical beings you've thrown into your question, I would have to say that leprechauns are a result of Hollywood because the myth does not come out of Ireland.Unicorns are mistaken identities from the Ibex of
Africa, and hobgoblins have been around since man had first lighted a fire; they have since been dismissed as figments of the persons imagination about sixty or seventy thousand years ago.
The Bible takes intelligence to read and it takes a lot of study to understand. That is an honest study or you are going to take the whole good thing out of context and misrepresent the word of God. That is not a good thing.
You are right about these myths being in a book but don't believe everything you read. You are an intelligent being aren't you?
There is a great amount of recordings outside of the Bible that correspond with the Bible giving proof historically, as well as archaeologically. Intelligence is a requirement if you are going to debate the authenticity of the Bible, and you seem to be taking that with less than a grain of salt.

The bible is a collection of letters, mantras, scrolls, etc written by various prophets, kings, etc. The scrolls were put together 2 form the bible less than 2000 years ago. People have been worshipping God more than 10000 years ago. Isolated tribes & villages that have no education & have never seen or heard of the bible worship God in some form or fashion. Before the white man migrated to America & brought the Bible, the indians there worshipped a Supreme being. Every living person have worshipped God in some form or fashion at some time of their lives.
This is because every living human is borned with God in their heart. God makes sure that his existence is known even from then.
The problem is that the more education some people receive the more they lose their spiritual reality & eventually can only see the physical. What is in front of their noses. They are ruled by logic & science only. Atheists therefore are usually very educated people. Educated, but unfortunately not wise for their lack of spiritual reality is the atheist biggest loss & therefore make them inferior to us who still retain God in our hearts.

I believe in the bible because of God.

And the bible does not speak of UNICORNS in regards to the mystical horse like creature with a single horn as one of your answerers claims. A very poor mistake in context and a play on the English translation of the word. Yet I understand the persons reason for mentioning it.

i believe in God and jesus because of the gospels in the bible.
I know God exists because an angel appeared to me in my room.
I know that Jesus exxists because I had 3 other visions of Jesus as well.
this is interesting, every link to a mentioned unicorn is symbolic. like when a prophet calls the people of Judah trees, or when the beast arises out of the ocean but the ocean is realy the people of the world.
of course i find no links to a leprechuan either, but that doesnt mean its not there, i am pretty sure that all citations will be like the unicorn. Did God ever create a real unicorn. Maybe? but at this point it is not conclusive.

I'll have to say no, I don't believe in God because of the Bible. I believe in God because the Holy Spirit has opened my eyes to biblical truths, and the Bible follows as an affirmation and an ongoing sanctification according to His grace. Unicorns, trolls and hobgoblins can't do that.

I have always believed in God, but I haven't always believed in the bible. I like to think that things like leprechauns, unicorns and trolls and so forth existed at some point in time. Do they now, no. Does God, yes.

Although I think the question is a little out of line when it comes to peoples beliefs I actually totally agree with you. If you look at like that it would make you not want to believe in him. But He sure does give a better explanation as to life then theories from sucky history books that can't be proven either. Those are about the WORST explanations I have ever read in my life. So if your gonna pick on someones higher being than I think you should analyze human beings retarded way of coming up with stories first. They play people like idiots and expect all of us to agree. Just my own opinion.

It is impossible to believe in God because of the Bible, because it contains many contradictions that will be self evident to a frank person.

Well, I looked in the White House and saw that the President lived there. Someone said you cannot look in the White House to prove he lives there. I thought that was kind of ignorant considering that's how one would find out. So, I look in the Bible and oh lookie it says there is a God. Yep I looked in the Bible to see if it was true, just like I would do with anything if someone asked me. I would look at it's source to find the answer.
