whip him with a switch when he comes to the door.
cats basically suck- they're not nearly as good pets as a small dog and if they breed and go feral they can devestate a micro-enviroment in the wild

I have lived with outdoor cats my whole life; all of them healthy, happy animals. Some stray further from the home than others depending on how brave or capable they are.

You must live in a suitable area for it, first. Busy nearby streets would be a worry, as would untethered dogs or large cats living nearby. But if you have a yard or live in the country I don't see any reason you couldn't introduce your indoor cat to the outdoors.

I would suggest getting a cat door first; one you can lock so that it is in-only or out-only. Let your cat out only during the day at first, then gradually work up to leaving the door unlocked all the time.

Well the best way to do that is just take your cat outside. The cat will not really turn into an outside unless it wants to. The thing to not do is to put your cat out. Seeing to the fact that your cat is an indoor cat, it has no way to defend itself from other cats and will probably have trouble finding food. Just give your cat time, plan out times in the day to let your cat outside and you come with your cat to make it feel comfortable. If your cat is young it will probably not be as difficult to introduce to the outdoors seeing to the fact that younger cats are more curious and playful and will be attracted to the squirrels and birds. Coming from experience I never had a problem with my cats going outside. All i had to do was leav the door open and they found their way out there. It should not be too difficult and eventually your cat will make friend( maybe enemies) and will love to go outside. I hope I helped

I used to have an indoor cat. Then a stray came along and was my outdoor cat. Whenever I would open the door, the indoor cat would run outside and simultaneously, the outdoor cat would run inside. It worked great as long as one jumped over the other, but sometimes they would both decide to jump and would collide in mid-air. I wish had a video camera back then. Anyway, as long as your indoor cat is not declawed, he should survive outside, but it won't be easy and will shorten his lifespan.

Don't do that. If your cat was not raised as an outdoor cat, he/she won't be able to cope with living outdoors and will probably die in a short while. If you don't want the cat living in your house, anymore, be kind and find a good home and good people that will adopt it.

Cats are supposed to left inside! Do you not know the dangers of him being outside??? Do you know how many people hate cats and leave out antifreeze for them? It's a slow and very painful death. And what about traffic? Aren't you concerned about him getting hit? Or what about getting attacked by another animal? Need I say more? Be responsible and leave him in!

You don't. Cats are a domesticated animal that survive better in a home. By putting them out, you shortening their life and putting them in dangers of many risks, such as illnesses and other animals.

Shame on you for even thinking about it. If you can't keep it inside any longer, then bring it to your local Humane Society so they can find a new home for it.

Why would you want to???That would be inhumane, since she has been inside she may not be able to cope with being outside. If you no longer want the cat, do her a favor and find her a GOOD home PLEASE!!!!!!

don't put it outside all at once, maybe go out with it and slowly keep it out longer. But if you leave it outside to long to soon, it might run away.
