No, Satan is absolutely real, though he would rather not be exposed that way. He LOVES it when people think he is just a harmless symbol or metaphor. I don't know about all the religions, but the bible says he was a very very beautiful angel from long ago, that willfully turned against God, and turned others away. They were totally guilty, because they knew all about God and the way things worked. They chose their fate. He is doomed, but not done away with yet. He is a spirit creature, and has many evil spirit followers. He is going to be the most tormented in hell forever, and it will be no party. Satan's hate for God, and for the creation has played out in many an interesting form. What it has allowed for, is for man to choose. Again, just like the angels, if we must hate God, or reject him, and spit on what the son of God, Jesus did, he will let us go to hell. Satan doesn't care what you believe, as long as it isn't God or the Bible. He wants to take down God's creation. He is real though, make no mistake.

It is amazing to me how ignorant people are to historical facts. The truth is, the Judaic version of Satan (the original version of Satan) was that he was not an evil demigod that the Christians made him to be. Rather, he was an angel that worked for God to show humans another path (a bad...evil path) and give them a choice. He did not trick them into it, he just gave them the option and it was the humans decision to make as they had free will. (It is often human nature to go the less moral path. But many will not.) The point of Satan's job was to expose them to the less moral path so that humanity would understand the real difference between good and evil. In otherwords, one can not know what good really means, if they don't know what the meaning of evil is to compare it to. So, that is the real explanation of Satan and why he was originally created. Christians later took him and made him something else.

Satan is the most beautiful of all the angels and a master of deception. He is real and will deceive all who come to him. Be very careful because he has set himself up on a wing of the church and will lead many away from God.

Satanism as a "religion" says that Satan is a symbol, not a true being.
