Lake Louise is my favorite. TONS of vertical, lots of terrain to cover, high-speed quad lifts all over the place.
Lake Louise has been used for lots of world-class ski competitions. It's about a 2-hour drive from Calgary, Alberta, which has a very accessible airport.
Fernie is also a very good ski resort. It's a little furthur from civilization and so it's not as busy. They get tons of snow, though.

My favorite is Sunshine on the Alberta/BC border. It has a variety of runs for all skill levels and it is made up of one bowl msurrounded by 3 mountains so there are tons of routes to ski.
